If you’ve ever been to the city of Toronto, you’ll understand why I have it on my list as one of the best cities in the world. It’s a city that you absolutely must visit at least once in your lifetime and here’s why.
If someone wants to experience various cultures concentrated in a single area, one of the best places to go is the city of Toronto. People from various parts of the globe gather and call Toronto home – comprising of almost half the city’s population. As a result, there are approximately 180 dialects spoken in the city.
Neighborhoods and communities showcasing these cultures have developed throughout the city – so if you want to experience Chinese culture, head on to Chinatown. If Italian food is more up your alley, go visit Toronto’s Little Italy.
There are even more fun ways to experience cultures in the city, such as cultural events and festivals, especially during the summer where there’s a festival happening every weekend.
Diverse Food Scene
If food is one of the main attractions when you travel, then you surely won’t be disappointed if you’re in Toronto. Stroll around the city and you can see big and small restaurants serving authentic dishes from their cultures as well as explore some daring fusion dishes – in Toronto, you can always find something to excite your palate!
Art and Entertainment Scene
Toronto isn’t just filled with world-class restaurants; it’s also filled with museums for just about every interest.
Visit The Royal Ontario Museum, which features just about anything from temporary to permanent exhibitions – you name it, they have it. You can also experience their free ROMWalks where you get to explore different parts of the city and learn about their history, architecture, arts and more.
For art enthusiasts, The Art Gallery of Ontario is the way to go. It features permanent collections from a wide array of artists, as well as a rotating exhibition.
The city of Toronto also has some unique museums such as the Hockey Hall of Fame, which is located smack dab at the heart of the city. The Hockey Hall of Fame is also home to the original Stanley Cup. Another one of Toronto’s unique museums is the Bata Shoe Museum where there are at least 1,000 shoes on display from different eras.
